Overview

The Home Life Care Communities Since 1891 (formerly known as The Home for Aged People in Fall River) is a nonprofit (and tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code), continuing care retirement community that has over 115 years of experience in providing residential care for seniors.

Vision Statement

“The Home” is a thriving Life Care Community providing mature individuals of advancing age with an environment of neighbors and an embracing staff who support a unique atmosphere of vitality, dignity, individuality, the highest standard of kind & caring physical and emotional support, respect, secure peace of mind and relief when required with a philanthropic bias, a non-profit business model and the autonomy to operate with independence.

Mission Statement

Founded in 1891, “The Home”, a life care community of varying yet mission-linked entities, offers a continuum of independent, independent with supportive services and gracious nursing care to mature residents of the south coastal Massachusetts region.  “The Home” is uniquely a not-for-profit establishment determined to provide and maintain an environment of autonomy, self-sufficiency, freedom, independence, vitality, security and self-worth for all individuals associated with the enterprise where kindness and respect prevails for all.

It is the vision of the Board of Trustees that every effort in the management of the enterprise serve to preserve the independence and autonomy of the corporation as a key to its past and future success.  It is further the vision of the Board of Trustees that a sense of family permeate the establishment and that those employed and entrusted by the establishment to execute the mission of the establishment maintain the utmost sense of their privilege to serve as discerning, fiduciary benefactors who are committed to their duties which are; a total dedication to advancement of the dignity and pleasures of life during the mature years of our residents’ lives through respect, admiration and gentle care.  Further, the Board of Trustees have determined that the destiny of “The Home” lies in its ability to adapt to the changing environment around it and to evolve as needed to maintain its reputation as a provider of premiere retirement living where its residents receive the highest standard of excellence in service and individualized attention.

All individuals involved will take pride in the knowledge that their association with “The Home”, as a resident or as one of its professional employees or care givers, marks them as a leader in the region for senior care that provides for the individual, personal, social, physical, emotional, health, hygiene and self esteem needs of its constituents that is personalized and sets a conspicuous high standard for excellence.

All of these attributes and attitudes will be the hallmarks of “The Home” and its continuing legacy.
